The Presidents Cup tees off today and what lies below is all the major story lines going into Medinah Country Club.

1.Team USA is 13-1-1, with the USA winning the last 10. It’s a every lopsided rivalry. But maybe just maybe this is the year the International team does it. Vegas (Int. Moneyline is +1000), myself and probably most of the International team don’t think so.

2. Scottie Scheffler… Not a team guy, probably a good hang though. Scottie carries the top seed but as most golf fans know his team history ain’t great. It ain’t even mediocre. He’s 3-5-1 in President Cup team events and 0-2 in singles. The story here is can Scottie come through in team play? The future Ryder Cup depends on it.

3. The International side has lost every road Presidents Cup by at least three points since 1996 and is coming off back to back blowout losses. They are massive underdogs looking for a signature upset on U.S. soil. They will never get it. Over my dead body.

4. The Course itself is a bit of a storyline. None of the players on either team has played Medinah in competition since it reopened in 2024 following a renovation that dramatically changed how the course looks and plays. What was once a tree lined course now has wider fairways but more fescue and bunkering, plus even an out of bounds fence guarding a few holes. Notably was designed by an Australian.. suspicious.

5. Jackson Koivun will be making his Presidents Cup debut. Three months ago he was helping Auburn win a national title. Now he’s with the big boys. We are rooting for the young man.
