3M Open: Kitayama Claims 2nd Career Victory
Kurt Kitayama won the 3M by one stroke over Sam Stevens. He did so after making the cut by just a stroke on Friday and then shooting a tournament record tying 60 on Saturday. Even better? He did it all with his older brother on the bag. How about this stat?
Senior Open: Paddy Wins Again
Padraig Harrington won his second senior major championship of the year on Sunday at Sunningdale. With his victory, he joins Gary Player, Bob Charles, Tom Watson and Darren Clarke in being winners of both The Open and Senior Open. Also, his Youtube Channel is one of the best out there for teaching golf.
LPGA Scottish Open: Lottie Woad Wins LPGA Debut
How about Lottie Woad? The golf world first heard her name when she birdied 3 of the final 4 holes to win the Augusta National Women’s Amateur last year. She won the Women’s Irish Open as an amateur a few weeks ago, finished 2nd last week at the Evian Championship, which earned her a tour card, and then she won this week in her first official start. She decided to skip her final year at Florida State. She’s just 21 years old.
LIV Golf: Niemann Wins…Again
Joaquin Niemann has won a LIV event for the 5th time this year. Despite those wins, he fired his coach and his caddie at the beginning of the week after missing the cut at the Open Championship. Clearly, he’s a very good golfer, but his best finish in 26 major championships is 8th place. Will he get over the hump, or will he become the next Lee Westwood?
