Plus: TGL Update, Tiger for Captain, and more.
The Shanks Gator
Good Afternoon! Welcome to Shanks. We’ve got a quick one for ya this morning. Don’t forget, at the very bottom of today’s email, you can refer a friend and win free gear.
Here's what we've got for ya today:
Ben Griffin made 7 birdies yesterday en-route to carding a 63. The wild thing about it, though, was that six of his seven birdie putts were outside of 10 feet.
How many rounds of golf would the average golfer have to play until they organically birdied six putts outside of ten feet?
Griffin finished at 14-under, two shots ahead of Harrison Endycott (65), Luke List (66), Carl Yuan (66) and Henrik Norlander (67).
When we said that the Sanderson Farms Championship was wide open, we meant it, but….
Readers, this is one of our worst cards in history.
Mitchell, Riley, and Hughes failed to make the cut.
Aberg (T-16) outright, Bhattia (T-42) Top Ten, and Jaeger (T-42) Top 5 are still alive, but not looking good.
Weekend Flier: Harry Higgs +3000 via Fanduel.
You may have forgotten by now, but there’s another new golf league starting in January. It’s Tiger and Rory’s new project, called TGL, and they just made some new announcements you may be interested in, or not, we have no idea how this league is gonna turn out.
Here are the announcements:
The first match will be televised on primetime on Tuesday, January 9th. There will be fifteen matches throughout the first season. The matches will be 3 v. 3 and will take about 2hrs.
The real question… will Tiger be healthy enough to participate?
Oh God, what a disaster! PGA Tour Pro falls in creek, still makes par.
Tiger is the next logical choice as Ryder Cup captain, according to Davis Love.
Justin Thomas tees off on Alan Shipnuk over LIV and Let Die book.
You get paired up with this old guy who gets a hole in one.
He gets so excited on the tee box he has a heart attack and while the paramedics are taking him away you say “nice birdie though”.
The “Hovi” PLD Limited DS72 honors Viktor Hovland’s tremendous season in 2023, which was highlighted by his playoff run to victory at the FedExCup.
The winning design is precision milled at PING’s Phoenix, Arizona headquarters by its master machinists.
Each putter is serialized and built to the exact shape, specs and weight of Viktor’s putter, including the red Winn 15” “Long Pistol” grip. A Hovi-inspired custom putter cover further distinguishes this one-of-a-kind offering.
Release Date October 10th, 2023 at 2PM ET.
