Good afternoon! Welcome to Caddyshanks. The PGAT is headed back to California for the final leg of it’s west coast swing and the weather looks better than the last two weeks, but we did see there’s a chance of some rain on Sunday.
Awful weather out west this year has lead to two things:
Golf Fact: Tiger Woods is playing this week at Riviera, but he’s never won there.
Here's what we've got for ya today:
🚩 Location: Riviera CC, Pacific Palisades, CA.
💰 Purse: $20M -$4M to first.
👑 Previous Winner: Jon Rahm
👀 Watch On: Golf Channel, CBS.
Like blue Powerade in a Styrofoam cup with ice, The Genesis is here to cure your WM Open hangover.
Yep, this week has it all; a loaded field, the GOAT, a classic venue, and it’s a Signature Event.
Unlike other Signature Events, this one actually has a cut - only the top 50 and those within 10 shots of the leader will play the weekend. It is, however, only a 70-man field.
Best In The Field
40 of the top 50 in OWGR will be competing and that includes Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Viktor Hovland, Patrick Cantlay, Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Max Homa, Wyndham Clark, and Xander Schauffele.

2020 - Adam Scott
2021 - Max Homa
2022 - Joaquin Niemann
2023 - Jon Rahm
Last weeks card had two hits. Let’s see if we can keep the magic going.
Winner: Patrick Cantlay +1600
Slow and steady wins the race. While Cantlay has never won at Riv, it feels like he could at any time. According to the nerds at Datagolf, he has the second best strokes gained here of anyone in the field, other than Max Homa.
Top Five: Ludvig Aberg +350
He didn’t play last week at the WM Open, so you may not remember that the last time we saw him he was absolutely dialed. His driving accuracy is perfect for the tee shots required at Riviera.
Top Ten: Adam Scott +250
This is a course history pick. He’s won the event twice and he played well last week at the WM with a T8.
Top Twenty: Tiger Woods +350
Whatever, let’s have a little fun.
Longshot: Hideki Matsuyama +6000
Phew, with six straight golfers winning at greater than 100 to 1 odds, this pick merits some serious consideration… Hideki has been quietly playing pretty well lately and he seems to ALWAYS play well at Riviera.
With Easier Golfing
If you want to hit the ball farther this year, you’ve got to increase your swing speed.
The Powerflex can help with that.

Did you know that Tiger Woods has been using the same putter for the better part of two decades?
Well, now you do.
It’s hard to believe that Tiger would use a putter that is so dinged up, until you remember that he’s won 14 of his 15 majors with it. That’s some good juju.
If you’re wondering, he won the 1997 Masters with a different Scotty Cameron, which sold at auction for $13,000.00 recently.
NOTHING IS OFF THE TABLE: CALLS FOR CHANGE AT WM GROW LOUDER
SUN DAY RED GETS MIXED RESPONSES
Credit to his buddy for being able to keep him up as long as he did.
It’s time to make a statement at your local muni. And no, we don’t mean making a statement by walking in the front door of the clubhouse and loudly proclaiming that the course record is yours. But, you can be equally as loud and possibly just as obnoxious while wearing the G/Fore Gallivan2r T.P.U. golf shoes ($175).
This colorway isn’t for everyone, but it is for us. And if it isn’t for you, wouldn’t you know, it also comes in Snow/Twilight which is way sick.
If you’re unfamiliar with G/Fore and their steep pricing, allow us to explain. It’s made of rich people’s fabrics. It’s insanely easy to clean, has the strong support you’re looking for, and is somehow as comfortable as your best slippers.
Check out all the new styles on the G/Fore website now!
That’s all folks! See you Saturday Morning.
