Good Morning! Welcome to Shanks. Another week, another longshot winner on Tour. It’s getting almost hard to believe at this point. Our weekly card had two hits though. Sahith Theegala Top 5 +650 and Tom Hoge Top 20 +300.
Here's what we've got for ya today:
Charley Hoffman looked like he was going to come out of nowhere and run away with the tournament. He shot a 64 and went into the clubhouse with the lead.
At one point during final 9, Data Golf tweeted that Charley Hoffman went from an 8% chance of victory to an 88% chance over the course of 40 mins.
Then Nick Taylor came alive and forced a playoff.
The man was absolutely dialed down the stretch.
If you were at a Superbowl party and didn’t get to watch it, you missed a great finish and a great Sunday of golf. Here’s how Nick Taylor played his final six holes:
That is just some seriously clutch play. To force a playoff and make both birdie putts to win?
Really great stuff.
Just when it looked like Scottie Scheffler was beginning to turn things around with his putting, his issues reared their ugly head down the stretch on Sunday afternoon.
Two hits for the week. We nabbed our first Top 5 and Top 20 this week. We hope you got paid.
Outright Picks: 0-6
Top Five: 1-5
Top Ten: 3-3
Top Twenty: 1-5
Longshot: 0-6
MTCP: 1-2

Things got a little out of hand this weekend at the WM Open.
Let’s talk about it.
First, this event is billed and marketed by the tour as “The Peoples Open”. Things get wild and the tour, sponsors, and players have all really embraced the event in the years past.
We know that the fans are not there to learn about the joys of recycling.
But this year something felt different. Has the WM Open gotten out of hand?
Tiger Woods is playing golf this week. He is +10000 on BetMGM right now.
Hard to ignore the GOAT as a longshot pick for the week when we’ve had 6 longshots in 6 weeks on Tour.
As you can see, the field for Riviera CC is loaded and it looks like Viktor Hovland and Xander Schauffele are both in the field after their WD’s last week.
