⛳️ How many days til The Masters?

Good afternoon! Welcome to Shanks, the Ryder Cup hangover is real, but the PGAT schedule just keeps on going. This week, the pros are headed to Jackson, Mississippi for a tournament hosted by a poultry company.

Fun Fact: That dude who went viral for going insane on the golf course the other week? Yeah, there’s been other incidents.

Here's what we've got for ya today:

  • Doin Lines: Sanderson Farms Championship
  • How Many Days Til The Masters? And other majors.
  • Shots Heard Round The World
  • LIV and Let Die Excerpt
  • Thing We’d Buy If We Weren’t Broke
  • How To Get Free Golf Stuff

Doin Lines: Sanderson Farms Championship

🚩 Location: Country Club of Jackson

💰 Purse: $7M - $1.2M to 1st.

👑 Previous Winner: Mackenzie Hughes

👀 Watch On: Golf Channel & Peacock

The Field at a Glance

As we mentioned on Monday, it’s a pretty weak field for the Sanderson Farms Championship in Jackson - only two players are inside the Top 50 in OWGR.

Ludvig Aberg is the favorite, but in terms of betting, the field is wide open.

However, six of the last nine winners got their maiden tour victory at The Sanderson Farms Championship, and Ludvig is still looking for his.

Last years champ, Mackenzie Hughes, is at +9000 as he fights to keep his tour card.

Full Field Here.

The Course

The Country Club of Jackson is pretty long at 7,461yds, but the rough shouldn’t be too penal at all. The challenging aspect of this course will be the small, super-fast, Bermuda grass greens.

Previous Winners

2018 – Cameron Champ

2019 – Sebastián Muñoz

2020 – Sergio Garcia

2021 – Sam Burns

2022 Mackenzie Hughes

Shanks Picks

We aren’t getting too detailed here this week and we will still be throwing a little bit on Ludvig Aberg +1100 because even though the number isn’t great, he’s the most talented golfer in the field. Odds via Fanduel.

Outright Winner: Keith Mitchell +2800

  • Cashmere Keith is one of the most consistent players in the field and his number here is pretty attractive.

Top Five: Stephan Jaeger +400

  • Jaeger is the favorite behind Ludvig Aberg to win this thing at +1800, so +400 for a top five finish feels pretty safe, but if you want to do more digging you could probably find better value.

Top Ten: Akshay Bhattia +450

  • There’s no statistical reason for this pick. We just like the guys game.

Top Twenty: Mackenzie Hughes +300

  • He clearly likes playing the SFC (he won last year) and while his game is not at its best, we kind of like the desperation play here.

Longshot: Davis Riley +4000

  • Davis Riley is one of the few Mississippi natives on Tour, and we like the home crowd to be behind him. He’s definitely familiar with the course.

Make The Cut Parlay: Ludvig Aberg, Stephan Jaeger, Eric Cole, Keith Mitchell, Davis Riley, and Beau Hossler to all make the cut. +305 on Fanduel.
