Good Morning. Welcome to Shanks. Even though Jack Nicklaus said he hadn’t swung a club since his ceremonial shot at The Masters, he proved that he can still putt like a legend, after borrowing Blockie’s putter to sink a long range putt.

Quick Update: WWT Championship
So far, this has been the most compelling tournament of the entire Fedex Fall. Or, at least, it has the most compelling storylines, despite being a good ole’ fashioned Mexican birdie-fest.
Take the leader, for example, Camilo Villegas (-16). The guy has been through hell and back over the last few years. He lost his 22 month old daughter in 2020, due to complications from tumors, and he’s spent the last year mostly on the Kornferry Tour, with a few PGA events sprinkled in. He’s been grinding his tail off.
Villegas went 64-64 to start the tournament, while currently ranked No. 223 in the Fedex standings, a win would go a long way toward getting him at least conditional status.
Another storyline, is Jeff Kang. Never heard of him? Us either. He qualified for the event in LA, which is where he lives. According to PGAT “Kang has traveled the world since leaving USC nearly a decade ago. The PGA TOUR is the ninth tour Kang has played, mostly in Canada and various circuits in Asia. His lone victory is the Chengdu Championship on the old PGA Tour China series in 2018”
The biggest check of his career was 40k for that win. He is currently T4 along with Ludvig Aberg, the all-world rookie and Ryder Cup champion.

Then, you’ve got wily veteran Matt Kuchar T2, along with a mess of other golfers who are seeking their first tour win in the mix behind him.
The only defense this course really has, is the wind, which they are saying should pick up over the weekend. Could we get some volatility on the top of the leaderboard?
Shanks Picks Update
The card is showing some signs of life! Although, Sahith Theegala missing the cut on a course this easy was hard to predict.
Outright Winner: Lucas Glover (-8) is currently T27 and a full eight strokes off the leader (-16).
Top Five: Ludvig Aberg is currently sitting pretty and T4.
Top Ten: Beau Hossler is six-under and five strokes off the top-ten position.
Top Twenty: Justin Suh is safely in the top-twenty after two rounds.
Longshot: Michael Block finished dead last. The block party is officially, and finally, over.
Tourney Special: Sahith missed the cut and killed this bet.
