For the second week in a row, Scottie Scheffler gets the chance to defend a title—and a jacket.
He came up short against Rory McIlroy at Augusta, missing out on the famous green jacket. Now, just 150 miles up the road, he’s looking to keep the plaid jacket at Harbour Town out of the hands of a loaded field.
Among those trying to take it from him: Collin Morikawa, Shane Lowry, Patrick Cantlay, Jordan Spieth, Xander Schauffele, Ludvig Åberg, Justin Rose, Justin Thomas, and Tommy Fleetwood.
It’s a signature event, so nearly all of the top players are in the field—except Rory, who’s taking the week off. You’ll see him back next week at the Zurich Classic, where he and Lowry will defend their team title.
Worth noting: this is Scottie’s fourth title defense of the season.
In case you forgot, he won the AP Invitational, Players Championship, Masters, and RBC Heritage last year. Not a bad stretch.

Well, he’s got four top 10’s, including a 4th place finish last week. It’s not like he’s been playing poorly, but he hasn’t quite gotten back to the form he was in last year.
