⛳️ Five Man Playoff

Plus: the hottest course on earth.

Good afternoon! Welcome to Shanks. We’ve got golf to bet on the next two weeks with the Shriners Childrens Open and the ZoZo Championship. Hopefully, we can put together a better card than last week.

Trivia: Who stunned the golf world by winning the 2003 PGA Championship despite being ranked No. 169th in the world at the time?

Answer Below.

Here's what we've got for ya today:

Super Quick Recap: Sanderson Farms

Ben Griffin struggled down the stretch and opened the door for a five man playoff on Sunday.

Luke List shut that door with a 45 foot birdie putt to win the playoff over Griffin, Ludvig Aberg, Henrik Norlander, and Scott Stallings.

Since winning his first TOUR title at the 2022 Farmers Insurance Open (defeating Will Zalatoris in a playoff), Luke List had not posted a top-10 finish until winning the 2023 Sanderson Farms Championship, a span of 47 starts.

Now, he banks $1.4 million, and he gets to play in The Masters.

The Hottest Course On Earth

Golfers Journal, the fanciest golf magazine of all golf magazines, went to the hottest, lowest golf course on Earth - Furnace Creek.

The field is slightly better this week than last week at the Sanderson Farms Championship.

Tom Kim will be looking to defend his title from the surging Ludvig Aberg.

Lexi Thompson, through sponsors exemption, will become the 7th woman to compete in a male pro golf event. She is +100000 to win.
