Preview & Picks: WM Open

It’s that time of year again.

The People’s Open kicks off tomorrow and wraps up on Super Bowl Sunday—one of the best traditions in golf. In a sport that often leans buttoned-up, this tournament is anything but.

Every year, it feels more and more like the tailgates I grew up attending outside Veterans Stadium and, later, Lincoln Financial Field. If you know, you know.

The sights, the sounds, and, yes, even the smells.

It’s golf meets a Philadelphia Eagles tailgate—chaotic, loud, and completely unique. Some people can’t stand it, and that’s fine. Last year, things got so rowdy you could almost smell it through the TV. This isn’t your grandfather’s golf tournament.

I love it for what it is. It has its place, and it stands in stark contrast to the quiet, controlled atmosphere we’ll see in Augusta two months from now. Hopefully, it doesn’t get pushed so far over the edge that it ruins what makes it special.

Despite last year’s drama (including Zach Johnson losing it on fans), this year’s field is loaded. Fifteen of the top 30 players in the world—and 29 of the top 50—will tee it up in Phoenix, led by World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, No. 5 Hideki Matsuyama, and No. 7 Wyndham Clark.

Where to Find the Best Deals on Hoka Shoes

Meaning “to fly” in Maori, Hoka was founded in 2009 so that anyone spending long hours on their feet could get the ultimate experience with optimum cushioning and stability. Less than 15 years after its founding, Hoka is bringing in revenues topping a billion dollars a year, so it’s clear that people are loving this brand. But with quality comes high prices, and Hoka is no doubt in the high end price-wise. Thanks to Brad's Deals, we found the best prices on Hoka.

WM Open Ruckus

Thing We’d Buy: Wild West

Bad Birdie has released an entire limited edition collection for WM Open week. They will also be at the tournament giving away free hats. It’s a pretty cool activiation.
